BoyleSports has been in the game for a long time and it shows. The welcome offer is one of the best around, the sportsbook is very comprehensive and there are many different promotions to make use of. On top of that, several payment methods are available (as well as fast withdrawals) and the customer support is good too, meaning the site has the complete package.

About BoyleSports

Having been founded all the way back in 1982, Boylesports has a much longer history than a lot of betting sites in Ireland. John Boyle founded the company by starting his first betting shop in Markethill, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. By the end of the 1980s, he had opened a further five shops in Drogheda.

From there, Boylesports continued to expand at a steady pace, becoming one of the most recognisable betting brands in Ireland, with a shop on the most high streets in the country. In 2004, there were 77 Boylesports shops and just a couple of years later, the company reached the 100 mark. From there, the firm continued to be aggressive on the shop takeover front, which also helped its visibility.

Boyle moved on from the role of chief executive to become chairman - he was succeeded by Conor Gray - while in 2018 the 250th Boylesports shop was opened in Ireland. The firm then announced plans to move into the UK market, as well as expand its online presence. But what about the betting product? Is it any good?

In this review, we will take a look at everything you need to know about Boylesports, from the welcome offer to the payment methods available. Hopefully, this will help you make an informed decision about whether or not to sign up.

Is BoyleSports Safe?

Boylesports is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, so potential new customers will not have to worry about the safety of the bookmaker. On Trustpilot, the site has an average rating of 3.4 out of five stars and although that might sound like a poor score, it's actually pretty good for a betting site.

Having said this, the Gambling Commission fined Boylesports £2.8 million in November 2021 and added conditions to its licence over a failed money-laundering risk assessment: "Boylesports cooperated fully with the investigation and acknowledged the findings from the outset,” said a statement that was released by the betting brand at the time.

BoyleSports Welcome Offer

Punters who are looking to sign up on the site will not be disappointed to hear that BoyleSports has one of the best welcome offers in Ireland, with a bet €10 get €30 deal on the table. All they need to do is deposit at least €10 and place a €10+ bet with a minimum odds of evens (2.00), and then the €30 free bet balance will be credited. Skrill, Neteller, PayPal and Paysafecard are not eligible deposit methods, it should be noted.

BoyleSports Promotions

Albeit not quite as strong as the competitor QuinnBet, which rarely has a plethora of promotions, BoyleSports does deserve some praise for the promotions offered on the site. Best Odds Guaranteed is in place, as you would expect from such an established bookie, but there are also a few early payout deals for different sports (with football bound to be the most popular).

BoyleSports Promotions

In addition to these promotions, the bookmaker also has a game called Fantasy Five, which is completely free to enter every week. Punters simply have to pick one player from five selected games, essentially creating a five-a-side. The players are then assigned different points for actions, such as goals and assists, with a jackpot of £5k up for grabs every time.

BoyleSports Deposits and Withdrawals

BoyleSports is one of the bookmakers in Ireland when it comes to deposits and withdrawals, with many different options to choose from when making one or the other. Several e-wallets are accepted by the bookie, ensuring that fast withdrawals can be made, and the minimum amounts are also very low which is nice to see. Below, we have collected everything you need to know about the payment methods at BoyleSports.

BoyleSports Sportsbook

The sportsbook has always been the main strength of BoyleSports, there is no doubt about it, and one can understand why as over 35 sports are available to bet on along with some special markets. The latter are anything from TV shows to politics, so BoyleSports has truly made sure to cover all the bases with its sportsbook offering.

Football, naturally, is one of the most popular sports on the site and those who want to bet on Premier League will find that there are usually around 200 markets per game. This is perhaps not as high as some of the best football betting sites, but BoyleSports is still one of them thanks to a bet builder and the many different promotions for the sport.

Betting margins are another important thing to look at, and thus we did just that during our tests. The average we got was 7.5% and that is a bit on the higher end compared to other betting sites. It's very easy for BoyleSports to fix this, though, and at least we are not talking about a margin of 8-9% which really would have been poor.

Horse racing is another clear focus on the site, sitting at the top of the home page, and the coverage is as comprehensive as you would expect. Meetings from all over the world are offered and live streaming is available for UK and Irish races, plus a few others. Adding the many promotions to this equation, BoyleSports is an excellent choice for betting on horse racing.

Darts, golf and tennis are other popular sports on the site and the coverage is quite good for all of these. Once again, BoyleSports has many promotions for different sports and that is something we don't always see. It certainly makes the bookie stand out and it keeps existing customers happy, which isn't always an easy thing to achieve.

When the Esports section is fairly comprehensive, at least it was during our test, so the sportsbook gets a very high grade from us. It should be noted that the site's sportsbook and design are exactly the same in Ireland as in the UK, which is another receipt that the bookmaker believes a lot in its product.

BoyleSports Casino

The Boylesport online casino has been up and running for a while now, so how does the site compare to those run by the many industry rivals out there with similar offerings? Well, it is fair to say the experience of the Boylesports casino is not particularly slick, with the same no-frills style seen elsewhere on the website. But everything works as well as it should, so most people will not be too bothered about the design or any other bells and whistles.

Logging into the Boylesports casino presents users with a grid of slot games. Like most online casinos now, slots are the main focus for Boylesports when it comes to this section of the site. Age of the Gods slots are some of the most popular games at the Boylesports online casino, which does not have quite as big a range of titles as at other comparable sites.

BoyleSports Casino

Irish sports fans will be happy to see various online slots based on racing, while there are football games and a slot bearing the name of snooker icon Ronnie O'Sullivan too. However, some of the world's most famous slots - like Book of Dead - do not appear to be available to play, suggesting the casino needs to work on adding more licenses. Instead of Book of Dead, for example, Boylesports has Jane Jones' Book of Kings 2.

Superhero slots are a stronger area, though, with lots of games based on DC heroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash all available to play on the site. The Vegas tab on the Boylesports online casino adds even more slots, such as Megaways games, along with jackpot specials, with the library seemingly being updated on a regular basis.

Sections for new slots and jackpot games are simple to navigate too, while users can make the most of the search bar if there is a particular casino game they are hoping to find at Boylesports. The default option is to order the casino games by top picks, but it is possible to rank them in an A-Z or by order of their popularity at the online casino instead.

Card and table games have their own area at the Boylesports casino, so for those not interested in slots this is likely to be the primary port of call. Various blackjack games can be found here, while there is a lot of variety in the roulette and poker games that can be found too. Live dealer games are one of the more recent additions to the Boylesports online casino library, which is nice to see.

BoyleSports Mobile Apps

Mobile betting is incredibly important these days and fortunately, BoyleSports has an app that can be downloaded for both iOS and Android. The design of these is simple and follows a similar structure to the Boylesports website on desktop or mobile, so customers are likely to find them quite easy to navigate.

Many of the top rivals to Boylesports have opted to split up their products, launching betting apps in Ireland for each of them. However, at Boylesports, all of their products can be used on the same app, which a lot of people are likely to find is preferable as they only need one piece of software.

BoyleSports App

However, it is fair to say that the Boylesports mobile apps for iOS and Android are not the fastest around and the lack of speed might be frustrating, for example when trying to place a quick wager on a live in-play market for the big game.

There are certainly improvements that can be made to the apps by Boylesports, with some users likely to find it preferable to stick to either the company's mobile or desktop sites.

BoyleSports Responsible Gambling

In recent years, it has become increasingly important for betting sites to ensure that the gambling of their players is done in a safe manner. Various tools are offered as a result, with deposit limits being an example, but betting sites still struggle at times (or simply don't do their jobs). The following tools are available to help prevent gambling addiction at BoyleSports:

  • Deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Reality check
  • Time-out
  • Self-exclusion
  • And more

The bookie has a 'Safer Gambling' page with more information on the matter, where links to third parties and details about the various tools can be found. If we could give one advice, it would be to start with deposit limits. These may not sound like they could make a difference, but they really do help a lot.

BoyleSports Customer Support

Customer support is always very important for a betting site, with problems bound to arise, and a lack of proper support often results in a very poor reputation. BoyleSports clearly wants to avoid the latter, offering 24/7 support to its customers and several different contact options, with the most popular being the live chat.

Of course, as is now standard, there is also a FAQ page which surely answers most queries that punters might have. We found it helpful, anyway, but it's also easy to contact an agent if that is needed. Below, we have collected the contact details of BoyleSports, though the easiest thing is to access the live chat via the 'Help' page on the site.
