Who Owns BetMGM?
It feels like BetMGM has been operating in the UK for years, but it was actually launched as recently as the summer of 2023. Founded in 2017 by MGM Resorts International, in collaboration with gambling giants Entain, the site made its way to the UK later on and partnered up with another MGM-owned brand: LeoVegas.
This means that BetMGM has quite a few sister sites in the UK, obviously including LeoVegas - which is more casino-oriented - and also BetUK, which is more sports-focused. All three bookies have several similarities, but we will also delve into the differences and why punters might want to sign up for all of them.
My Thoughts on BetMGM
BetMGM's rise has been phenomenal to watch. I only really became aware of the bookmaker in December 2023, at which point MGM had really ramped up the advertising. However, I didn't actually try the site for a few months, and when I did, I could see why the site had such a positive impression on punters.
When browsing through the new betting sites in the UK, I prefer more 'all-round' sites and BetMGM certainly offers that. LeoVegas
If customers are looking for the American bookmaker's casino experience, putting LeoVegas forward is a no-brainer. The site is also owned by MGM Resorts, so the casino background is there automatically. Indeed, there is a clear focus on this area and anyone who decides to sign up will understand this.
When on the site or app, the standard and 'live' casino options are highlighted and with more than 2,000 different games available for customers, there is an extensive choice for anyone. LeoVegas also offer a sportsbook, but it certainly isn't as comprehensive as other options on the market.
BetUK
Just like LeoVegas, BetUK has a very clear focus but this time, it is the sports side of things. The site offers a nice sportsbook but as expected, there is little that separates it from its sister sites.
However, we are big fans of the 'ACCA Club' promotion which is offered online and when using the app. Customers can place a maximum bet of £500 on a three (or more) selection accumulator, and receive up to 200% extra on their winnings.
