ZetBet UK Review (2024)

Zetbet is a new online gambling site to launch in the UK in early 2022. The site has a lot of software from Aspire Global, an increasingly popular name in the betting industry that's associated with at least 60 other online gambling sites in the UK.

This overlap of products from MarketPlay ltd. and Aspire Global means you get a betting site that resembles many others. It also results in a site that is easy to navigate because its elements are arranged conventionally.

ZetBet is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), while its international operations are licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Moreover, the site uses standard 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryptions that takes care of privacy and security.

This review digs deeper into ZetBet, looking at key features that matter the most to a punter, including its sportsbook, customer support, payment methods and sign up requirements.

ZetBet Sportsbook

ZetBet's sportsbook is not the site's homepage but can be accessed by clicking on the "Sports" shortcut located at the top beside the "Casino," "Live Casino," "Scratch Cards," and "Promotions" tabs.

On opening the sportsbook, you find a standard set-up with the menu on the left. Football takes centre stage as several tournaments and leagues are listed under "QUICK LINKS" to the far left. Below the quick links are the "favourites" section. Any sports or competitions you visit regularly appear automatically under "favourites," so you don't have to go through many clicks.

Moving away from the menu and towards the centre, the sportsbook is still primarily dominated by football. Significant football events are listed by default, beginning with the live matches at the top and finishing with the most anticipated upcoming events at the bottom.

Sports Available

The complete list of sports on ZetBet includes:

  • Football: there were 800 events from over 60 countries worldwide. The countries with the most (over 20) tournaments and leagues are England, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Norway, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, and Japan. All major competitions, such as UEFA, Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, etc., are listed.
  • Horse Racing: all the big meetings from England and Wales.
  • Tennis: over 120 events from Australia, Croatia, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Switzerland, Algeria, and the United States International tournaments such as the ATP Geneva are covered.
  • Basketball: there were over 100 tournaments worldwide, beginning with the United States. Italy was well represented with over 20 matches, while the other countries had less than 20 matches each.
  • American football: there were at least 100 events from the United States and Canada. The USA alone had close to 100 matches, while Canada only had 12.
  • Formula 1: at least 30 events
  • Aussie Rules: several matches from Australia
  • Baseball: over 60 matches from the United States. No other country
  • Boxing: several international matches
  • Chess: several international competitions
  • Cricket: events from England and India
  • Cycling: international races
  • Darts: over 10 international competitions
  • Futsal: several from Brazil
  • Gaelic Football: Irish matches
  • Gaelic Hurling: Irish competitions
  • Golf: about 12 competitions, primarily for men
  • Handball: over 20 matches from Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Israel, Poland, and Romania
  • H. Racing Antepost: outright markets for horse racing, including meetings such as the Epsom Derby, Epsom Oaks, Ebor Handicap, and St Leger
  • Ice Hockey: over 30 international matches and 26 from the United States
  • Indy Racing: Indycar outrights
  • MMA: 1 international competition
  • Motorcycle racing: Superbike
  • Rugby Union: Australian, English, and French competitions
  • Snooker: several international competitions
  • Speedway: outrights for the Grand Prix
  • Table Tennis: More than 80 competitions, primarily dominated by events from Ukraine followed by the Czech Republic
  • Volleyball: CEV Champions League, International Champions League, and Polish PlusLiga
  • Waterpolo: matches from Hungary, Italy, and the LEN Champions League outright
  • Specials: Politics and Sports outrights, such as the UK Next prime minister, US next president, and BBC Sports Personality winner, among others
  • Wintersport - Ski Jumping: at least 18 outrights, including 4 Hills Tournament, Raw Air, World Cup Overall, and more

Looking at the sportsbook, you find that football has the most offerings, followed by tennis, basketball, and American football in that order. Also, it is clear that ZetBet only has outright markets for most of the less popular sports among punters.

Disclaimer: the number of listings for any category on ZetBet might differ depending on whether the sport is in season. For instance, while there were just under 900 football matches listed at the time of writing, it has been reported that ZetBet lists as many as 1,500 at other times.

Betting Markets

Football still takes the lead on ZetBet as far as betting markets go. You can expect well over 350 markets for the top football matches, such as those in the English Premier League. You will find popular football bets such as:

  • Both teams to score
  • Double chance
  • Half time/full-time match results
  • odds/ evens
  • Asian and European handicaps
  • Winning margins
  • Correct score etc.

Less common bets such as cards, corners, goal sequence, match combo, and penalties are also available. ZetBet has done a great job with football, so the markets you get are not so different from what you would find on established betting sites.

However, the less popular sports get minimal markets. For example, Indy, Speedway, Waterpolo, and Wintersport only had outrights. This trend is not uncommon among UK betting sites, where the most significant percentage of the punter population is enthusiastic about football and horse racing.

The other sports fall between, so they are not very badly represented. In tennis, for instance, you can expect markets such as:

  • match-winner
  • set winner
  • Asian handicap
  • over/ under
  • double result
  • player to win a set
  • Totals home team
  • Totals away team, and a few more

Betting Odds and Margins

ZetBet runs on the BtoBet platform that's well known for consistently delivering good odds, hence you can expect reasonable offerings from this bookie. The mathematical percentage payout also looks good at about 94%.

What's more, we calculated the average betting margins for their most popular sports offering, football. They came in at about 6.94% for four games in the English Premier League. When we investigated the exact matches in some of the top UK betting sites, we found 888Sport to have an average margin of 6.49%, while Bet365 had 5.73%.

ZetBet Promotions

ZetBet has minimal continuing customer promotions. It is also worth mentioning that most new betting sites have fewer promotions than legacy ones, so ZetBet's situation comes as no surprise.

That said, the bookie does give users a shot at up to a 77% odds boost through its "Zet Boost" promotion. It works for Accas featuring at least four-fold combinations. 4-fold accumulators get a 4% boost, while 15 or more selections enjoy a 77% boost.

The multi-bet feature could use some improvements to make it more user friendly and intuitive. Still, it gets the job done.

ZetBet also lacks a rewards program for UK customers. They do have one, but it is not available for users from the UK.

ZetBet supports cashing out your winnings before the match ends if your favourite team is taking an early lead. The site does not try to pass this as a promotion like some betting sites do.

However, you must keep in mind that the Cash Out Function attracts a small margin, which means your winnings will be less than they would if you had let your stake stick to the end of the match or race.

Live Streaming and In-Play Betting

Unfortunately, ZetBet does not have Live Streaming Services, even though it supports live betting. It is commendable that the site offers in-play betting options for plenty of sports compared to most new betting sites. However, the range of markets for individual games is still limited.

The site also lacks adequate data and statistics to support live bettors. That said, ZetBet allows you to stake in the following live sports:

  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • Cricket
  • Darts
  • Ice Hockey
  • Table Tennis
  • Esports Counter-Strike

Customer Support

ZetBet has a "Contact Us" link when you scroll to the bottom of the page. The main channel for contacting their support team is via email. Clicking the link takes you to a page that asks for your name, surname, email address, inquiry topic, and message.

The support team gets back via the email you provide. ZetBet says they are available 7 days a week, which means that you may get a response any day of the week. However, support is not available 24/7 but instead works between 8:00 and 00:00 CET.

An FAQ section also takes care of most of the common questions that ZetBet customers have, including account verification, privacy concerns, depositing, cashing out, bonuses, and much more.

Right below the FAQs link is one for the "help" section. It pops up much like the FAQ window but keeps things neater by focusing on a particular topic at a time.

ZetBet's lack of the Live Chat function that has become the industry standard may disappoint punters who wish for a quick response. Their lack of 24/7 support is less competitive, although they have tried to align their availability with the periods when most people are up.

ZetBet also lacks social media accounts. It would have been great to have an online presence where users could meet other punters with the same betting experience. Again, being a new betting site, it may be challenging for ZetBet to match the standards of established bookies.

ZetBet Mobile App

This bookie does not have any native mobile betting apps for Android or iOS devices. However, the site is conveniently mobile-optimised through HTML5. It wisely tacks the left-hand menu away to declutter the space on your mobile phone.

Yet you still get access to all the platform's features, whether you are using a computer or a smartphone.

ZetBet Safe and Responsible Gambling

ZetBet provides its users with several tools for promoting responsible gambling and helping with problem gambling. They include:

  • Deposit limits
  • Reality checklist
  • Permanent self-exclusion from betting
  • Time-out from the games
  • 1

    Signing Up Requirements (KYC)

Getting started on ZetBet involves signing up for an account and providing evidence of your identity and source of funds. You may need to provide some of the following:

    • Proof of ID: such as a passport, driving license, or ID card
    • Proof of address: such as a recent utility bill, bank statement, or any valid government letter
    • Proof of Payment method(s): To ensure that the source of your money is not illegal
  • 2

    Payment Methods

ZetBet has a reasonably comprehensive range of payment options for a new betting site. You can expect channels such as:

    • Visa
    • Mastercard
    • Neteller
    • ecoPayz
    • Skrill
    • AstroPay
    • Rapid Transfer
    • Interac e-Transfer
    • PayPal
    • Much Better
    • Trustly
    • Trustly Pay N Play
    • Instant Banking

The bookie says cash out requests are processed within 48 hours, but it also gives longer frames for funds to reflect in your account.

    Withdrawal Time

The time it takes to receive your money when cashing out is as follows:

    • Debit Card: instant to 6 days
    • Wire Transfer and Interac e-Transfer: 2 - 6 days
    • Neteller, Skrill, PayPal, and MuchBetter: instant - 2 days
    • Trustly, Trustly Pay N Play, and Instant Banking: Instant - 4 days
    • Rapid Transfer, ecoPayz, and AstroPay: instant - 4 days

Since the withdrawals are processed within 48 hours, ZetBet says you can cancel your cash out request any time in between. They issue a fair warning saying that they may put withdrawal requests on hold if you still have outstanding deposit transactions that have not been approved.

    Deposit Time

Unlike withdrawals, depositing to ZetBet is instant for Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz, and AstroPay. The company does not say anything about the other payment methods as far as deposits go.
