Mumbai Indians will go into the game as the firm favourites. After securing their maiden win over the Capitals, they will be in good stead. Given the form of RCB, MI should be able to win their second game this season. The Challengers need something special to turn their fortunes around.
Virat Kohli is expected to be the top batter in the upcoming game. He is currently the Orange Cap holder as he has scored 316 runs from 5 games at an average of 105.33 and a strike-rate of 146.29. He will be in a positive frame of mind after he scored an unbeaten 113 off 72 balls against the Royals in the previous game.
Romario Shepherd was at his rampaging best against the Capitals when he scored 39 runs off 10 balls. He was severe on Anrich Nortje and took 32 runs in the last over of the MI innings. It is not a surprise that he is expected to hit the highest number of sixes in the next game.

MI, led by Hardik Pandya, struggled in the initial stages of the tournament after they lost 3 matches in a row. However, they got their campaign under control after beating Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) by 29 runs on April 7. After being put in to bat first, MI scored 234 for the loss of 5 wickets.
Interestingly, none of their batters scored a half-century. Former skipper Rohit Sharma was their top scorer after he notched 49 runs off 27 balls before Axar Patel dismissed him. Mumbai bowlers found themselves under pressure when Tristan Stubbs was firing on all cylinders, but the hosts got home.
RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, have not been at their best by any means. Losing 4 out of 5 games thus far, they are languishing at the bottom half of the table with 2 points and a net run rate of -0.843. They will go into the game after losing to Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Virat Kohli scored a hundred as RCB put up 183 for 3 on the board. But thereafter, Jos Buttler strolled out and hit a 58-ball 100 to take RR past the finish line. The Royals won with 5 balls left in their innings.
MI and RCB have faced each other 34 times since their first meeting back in 2008. Mumbai are ahead with 20 wins to their name while RCB have won 14 times. At the Wankhede Stadium, MI have a 7-3 lead over their opponents on the head-to-head count.
In their previous meeting on May 9, 2023, MI beat RCB by 6 wickets. After being asked to chase down 200, Mumbai romped home with 21 balls left in their innings. Suryakumar won the Player of the Match award for his knock of 83 off 35 balls.
