Sunrisers Hyderabad are expected to win their upcoming game against the Capitals. SRH have been stupendous thus far with their batters showing no mercy to the opposition bowlers. DC need to put forth their A-game to have any chance of winning.
Travis Head has been on top of his game in the ongoing T20 league. In 5 matches, the left-handed batter has racked up 235 runs at an average of 47 and a strike-rate of 199.15 with a top score of 102 to his name. He smashed the fourth fastest IPL hundred against the Challengers and that should keep him in a positive frame of mind.
Heinrich Klaasen has been destructive in the middle order for the Sunrisers. He is expected to lead the 6-hitting charts in the next game, having already hit 24 sixes in the tournament until now. In 6 matches, the right-handed batter has racked up 253 runs at an average of 63.25 and a strike-rate of 199.21 with 3 half-centuries and a top score of 80 not out to his name.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns in the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Saturday, April 20. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi will host the contest.
The Capitals are steadily starting to find their feet in the tournament. They currently have 6 points and a net run rate of -0.074 thanks to wins in 3 out of 7 games. DC will be high on confidence after beating Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After being asked to chase down 90, DC romped home in 8.5 overs. The win also happened to be Delhi’s biggest in the IPL in terms of balls remaining. Rishabh Pant won the Player of the Match award after he affected 4 dismissals and scored an unbeaten 16 off 11 balls in DC’s run-chase.
The Sunrisers, led by Pat Cummins, on the other hand, would be looking to tighten their hold in the top 4. With 8 points and a net run rate of +0.502, SRH have been decent enough. They set the record for the highest team total in IPL history after racking up 287 for 3 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
SRH eventually won the match by 25 runs. Travis Head won the Player of the Match award after he scored 102 runs off 41 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes. Heinrich Klaasen hit 2 fours and 7 sixes. Another win may even help them get into the top 2.
The Capitals and the Sunrisers have faced each other 23 times in the IPL since they first met back in 2013. There is very little to separate them as the SRH are leading DC 12-11. In New Delhi, the Sunrisers have dominated with a 5-1 lead over their opponents.
In their previous meeting, SRH beat DC by 9 runs. Although the Capitals, it was Mitchell Marsh, who won the Player of the Match. Marsh finished with impressive figures of 4-0-27-4 after which scored 63 runs off 39 balls with the help of 1 four and 6 sixes.
