Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to win their next game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Although they lost their previous game at home, they should be able to make a strong comeback.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been impressive with the ball, using their three spinners to stifle opposition teams for runs. Given that RCB has been one of the worst bowling units in this IPL 2024 season, it's safe to bet on KKR to be the top bowling team in this clash.
Rajat Patidar is expected to hit the most sixes for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In 7 matches, he has scored 109 runs at an average of 18.16 and a strike-rate of 141.55 with a top score of 50 to his name. Having hit 8 sixes until now, Patidar is expected to lead the charts in the next game.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face each other in the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday, April 21 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, had a great chance of reclaiming the top spot in the points table when they faced the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Sunil Narine racked up a 49-ball hundred and helped the Knights rack up a huge score of 223 on the board. However, RR chased down the target off the last ball.
The Knights currently have 8 points and a net run rate of +1.399 thanks to wins in 4 out of 6 matches. Jos Buttler’s 55-ball century turned out to be too hot to handle for the home team on an excellent batting surface.
RCB, on the other hand, have struggled to find their feet in the tournament. The team, led by Faf du Plessis, is currently languishing at the bottom of the table with 2 points and a net run rate of -1.185 courtesy of losses in 4 out of 6 matches.
They will go into the match after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 25 runs. Dinesh Karthik scored 83 runs off 35 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes, but his efforts were not enough for RCB to avoid defeat.
KKR and RCB have locked horns 34 times since their first meeting back in 2008. Out of them, the Knights have won 20 games while RCB finished on the winning side 14 times. In their previous game earlier this season on March 29, KKR beat their opponents by 7 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
After being asked to bat first, RCB scored 182 for 6 on the back of Virat Kohli’s 59-ball 83, laced with 4 fours and as many sixes. Thereafter, Sunil Narine, Phil Salt, Venkatesh Iyer, and Shreyas Iyer helped the visiting team chase down the target with 19 balls left in their innings.
