Suryakumar Yadav pulled off a stupendous knock after he scored an unbeaten 102 off 51 balls with the help of 12 fours and 6 sixes. On the back of his knock, MI chased down 174 with 16 balls to spare.
KKR and MI have faced each other 33 times since their first meeting back in 2008. MI have a massive 23-10 lead over their opponents. At the Eden Gardens, Mumbai have won 7 out of 10 matches against KKR. In their previous meeting on May 3, 2024, the Knight Riders beat MI by 24 runs.
After being asked to bat first, KKR scored 169 in 19.5 overs. Venkatesh Iyer was the star of the show after he scored 70 runs off 52 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Manish Pandey also made 42 runs after coming in as an Impact Player. The duo put on 83 runs for the sixth wicket.
Jasprit Bumrah and Nuwan Thushara picked up 3 wickets apiece. Hardik Pandya also chipped in with 2 crucial scalps. MI struggled throughout their run-chase and finished with 145 in 18.5 overs despite Suryakumar Yadav’s 56. Mitchell Starc was outstanding after he picked up 4 wickets.
